Local students now have bigger, better classrooms and school facilities to learn in, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan MP today visited Victory Christian College to officially open its new buildings, which include a new two-storey Year 10 complex and sports oval.
This project benefited from a $2 million investment of the Andrews Labor Government. It is one of the many Victorian schools that benefited from the Labor Government’s $120 million Capital Funding Program for Non-Government Schools.
Building on its success, the Andrews Government has established an additional $402 million contribution to fund upgrades, new schools as well as asbestos and cladding removal for the non-government school sector.
The contribution to non-government schools is part of a record $1.82 billion investment into Victoria’s education infrastructure in this year’s State Budget – delivering on the Government’s promise to make Victoria the Education State.
More than one third of Victorian students attend a Catholic or independent school and only Labor will make sure they have the modern facilities they need to achieve their best.
The Government has already invested more than $3.8 billion to deliver new schools and more than 1300 school upgrades, supporting more than 5000 construction jobs for Victorians.
The Labor Government will open 100 new schools over the next eight years to ensure all students have a great local education.
