The Andrews Labor Government is continuing its record school building program, with more support to deliver the school facilities every Victorian student, teacher and school community deserves.
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan today announced an investment of almost $500,000 in upgrades at Bendigo South East 7-10 Secondary College as part of a $1.8 billion education investment in new schools and upgrades in the Victorian Budget 2022/23.
The Labor Government investment will deliver new stadium toilets and changerooms that are modern, clean and hygienic – helping local kids get more active.
The Budget invested $41.8 million in the Minor Capital Works fund to improve learning spaces and the condition and character of schools across Victoria.
In the past eight years, the Labor Government has invested $12.8 billion in building new schools and more than 1,850 school upgrades, creating around 17,400 jobs in construction and associated industries.
The Government is ahead of schedule in its work to deliver 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026, with 75 new schools opening between 2019 and 2024.
