The Bendigo East community will soon benefit from a massive school infrastructure boost, with the Andrews Labor Government delivering new schools and upgrades across the Catholic and independent education sectors.
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan MP today announced that Victory Christian College is one of 34 projects across Victoria that will share in $70 million under Round 3 of the Non-Government Schools Capital Fund, which is delivering new schools, increasing capacity and providing modern facilities, as well as supporting the removal of asbestos and cladding.
The Andrews Labor Government will contribute $2.2 million towards the $3.5 million project that will see the construction of a new building to facilitate the ongoing expansion of the school’s secondary classes.
The building will include two science and technology labs, an art and design multipurpose space, a food technology room, five learning areas, two large collaborative spaces, staff offices and nine individual toilets.
More than one third of Victorian students attend Catholic or independent schools – and this $402 million fund is ensuring students across the state are benefitting from new schools and better, more modern school infrastructure.
In the past seven years, the Labor Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools across the state and more than 1,700 school upgrades, creating 13,500 jobs in construction and through the supply chain.
