Still no answers on Bendigo Hospital delays
Thursday, 12 January 2012
The Member for Bendigo East, Jacinta Allan, said the Liberal National Government have chosen to attack her for asking questions on behalf of the local community about why the early contract stages of the New Bendigo Hospital project have been delayed.
"The Liberal Health Minister, David Davis, has treated Bendigo with contempt by refusing to explain the reasons behind the delay."
"Mr Davis's has not explained why the stated deadline of November 2011 for the short-listing of successful bidders to build the New Bendigo Hospital has not been met."
"If the deadlines have changed, the Minister and the Liberal National Government should be prepared to be open about this and explain why."
"Resorting to attacking the messenger demonstrates that the Liberal National Government feel they have something to hide from the community."
"I will continue to push for answers on behalf of the Bendigo community when it comes to the completion of the new Bendigo Hospital. I worked hard to make this project happen and I am determined that despite whoever is in Government that the community is told the truth about its progress," Ms Allan said.
