Weeroona students on the move into new classrooms

Thursday, 28 January 2010

Students at Weeroona College will soon be moving into new classrooms as part of the Brumby Government's Bendigo Education Plan.

Member for Bendigo East, Jacinta Allan, today inspected progress of Stage One building works ahead of students starting back to school next Monday.

The $8.4m Stage One works include three buildings of two learning communities and a new performance building.

"Four new state of the art junior secondary colleges are being built as part of the Brumby Government's Bendigo Education Plan. Once completed, every year 7-10 students in Bendigo Government schools will be taught in brand new classrooms."

Following students moving into the new buildings next week, the official opening of the new buildings will be held later in Term One.

Construction of all four schools is progressing well.

Work has commenced on Stage Two at Eaglehawk Secondary College, Stage One at Bendigo South East College will be completed before the end of term one and the new Crusoe College Kangaroo Flat will be ready for the start of Term Two.
